La Porte County boasts breathtaking natural resources and ease of access to several different modes of transportation. Its advantageous location serves as a gateway to and from the area. It’s access to major highways, toll roads, waterways and railroads is unmatched.

There are several major highways and thoroughfares, including Indiana Toll Road; I-94; U.S. 6, 12, 20, 30, 35 and 421; and State Roads 2, 4, 39, 104 and 212. Railways include Canadian National Railway; Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad; Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad; Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad; and Norfolk Southern Railway. Waterway access includes the Port of Indiana; Lake Michigan; and the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.
